Dedicated to the memory of Bill

Our beloved Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad passed away peacefully on Monday 5th February 2024. As you may know, he had been bed-bound for several months and although physically limited, he remained the sharp-witted gentleman we loved. We are most grateful for the 18 months of devoted care he received from the team at the Weir Nursing Home on the edge of Hereford. His ground floor room had fantastic views over the Wye valley, above the National Trust property, The Weir Garden. He was able to watch the birds (and squirrels) feeding right outside his window and his chuckle could quite often be heard as he watched their antics. Although we are devastated by his loss, we are glad that he is now at peace and out of pain from the cancer that ravaged his body for so many years. Rest in peace Dad x

Thoughts

Clare Harner "Immortality" Do not stand By my grave, and weep. I am not there, I do not sleep- I am the thousand winds that blow I am the diamond glints in snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle, autumn rain. As you awake with morning’s hush, I am the swift up-flinging rush Of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the day transcending soft night. Do not stand By my grave, and cry- I am not there. I did not die.

In memory of Dad who loved, in particular, all spring flowers. I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud by William Wordsworth I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host of golden daffodils: Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance. The waves beside them danced, but they Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:— A poet could not but be gay In such a jocund company; I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought. For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.
